Adoptable Ferrets

If you do not read our Policies first, you will not be considered for adoption. We are being extremely picky on homes. We do not mind educating people but you must understand the minimum requirements.

We strive to keep this updated but there may be more ferrets available than what is listed here. Non-Refundable Adoptions fee is $200. This cost assists us in buying food for those who are not adoptable. Along with veterinary care needed for the aging ones.

Please review the Policies and Guidelines prior to contacting us. Ferrets for adoption are located in Spokane Valley. Note that some are marked as Not Yet Available and those require evaluations of health and temperament. All ferrets who arrive here are held for a minimum of 2 weeks before adoption is considered. We do not adopt out unhealthy ferrets, bad biters, or those 6 years old and older. Strays will be kept for 30 days. If no owner is located, then they will be considered abandoned and placed up for adoption unless not found healthy enough. Pairs will not be separated.

We do not ship ferrets - all are fixed - we only adopt out to our local area (about 100 mile radius of Spokane WA). Very few exceptions are made. Previous ferret owners can be considered.

If the ferrets are listed together then they will stay together for life. Not all are listed here.

Please see our Facebook page for videos. We do not have "babies". Unlike dogs/cats, we do not get in pregnant ferrets. All our ferrets have been from Marshall farms who supplies the local pet stores with ferrets.

Solitary - Ned was Kenai Ken

This young boy came in with another ferret who has adrenal disease and will stay with us. He has shown he really does not like the other ferrets so will be a great only child in a household. He loves to play with people and will bond strong with his next owner.

Pair - Cedric Chuckles and Percival Puck

2 young males whose second home was to be unable to keep because of allergies. First owner's husband developed a very bad allergy and second home was having to keep them outside as they had a person in the home who is allergic.

Ferrets in the US cannot be kept outside. These are just too delicate and must be kept inside in temperatures between 65 and no more than 80.

Percival is still gaining weight and Cedric is still learning to trust people and will nip. Best for home without small children.

Pair - Keno and Bingo

2 young males whose owner neglected them until the room mate convinced them to surrender. Both were thin and scared when they arrived but are doing much better. So far have shown to have good temperments even with the neglect.

Pair - Drax and Elton

Owner unable to afford the ferrets and rather than wait for them to suffer neglect, they placed them with us to find the right home for them.

Drax (white) and Elton are 2 year old boys who have great attitudes and should be safe for all homes. They must have Wysong in their diet but we do not recommend having it as their sole source of food as this food has had problems with finding it available when you need it. They are doing great on the food mix we have.

Pair - Kevin and Richard

A pair of big boys who are young and still learning how to be nice to people. They had been surrendered because the owner discovered they were allergic. Which is common not to know until you share your home with them or go somewhere there are a lot of them to hold.

These boys are still like to nip and play hard so may not be good for a home with small children.

Pair - Lyla and Pumpkin (currently on hold)

A pair of 2 year old girls who have gotten along well with other ferrets. Currently we are working on getting Pumpkin up to acceptable weight.

They were used to a diet of only Wysong ferret food which can be an issue with getting it in stock and so we always recommend mixing foods for this very reason.

Pumpkin is too thin to adopt out so will be available when she gains enough weight.

Foster ferrets are those who are older or with medical needs. Veterinary care becomes the responsibility of the rescue along with food. Although we appreciate it if the foster can provide food. Our foster families must live fairly close to the rescue and keep in constant contact with us. We have a limited amount of cages to supply but we have plenty of blankets, litter boxes, water bottles and food dishes to supply. There are only a few fosterable ferrets.

NOTE - fostering can be short term as the ones we have available are typically older.
